Death of an Angel

Myself Haomnom (Ha~Om~Nom), an artist and a poet

This piece titled "Death of an Angel" explores what remains after something has already been broken

A body that no longer belongs to what it once was,

Yet one that refuses to turn to dust.

Not whole, neither gone...

Just quietly torn,

A remnant of something that refuses to be gone.

The figure is suspended in a state between presence and absence

It does not depict a fall, but rather the stillness that follows it

And I would like to leave the rest open to interpretation

One interpretation that stood out to me came from my sister, an aspiring writer, Amanita Zai. She described the figure as both being held and supported at the same time... held by the rope at its neck, yet supported by its broken wings, bound by what it has lost, and still sustained by what remains.

Thank You!
